Otis Jackson Jr., better known as Madlib, is an American hip-hop artist and composer, born October 24, 1973 in Oxnard, California, whose work is strongly influenced by jazz, particularly by Sun Ra. His parents were also musicians. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Madlib defines himself as a “DJ first, then producer, and finally MC”.
