The Karhu brand was born in 1916 in downtown Helsinki, under the name Ab Sport Artiklar, in a small sports equipment design workshop dedicated in particular to hiking, athletics and sliding sports. In 1920, the Finnish company officially became Karhu, which means "bear" in Finnish and therefore recalls the brand's logo.
